My picks for eco-friendly paraben-free make up for a humid summer

My picks, for you folks who preffer natural products, or atleast paraben free products, while maintaining a perfect look under the sun and humid summer conditions.

Here we go:

For primer, i like Smashbox Photofinish Light, its paraben free and fragance free. Suits very sensitive skin types, and controls oil production. It feels soft on the touch, but doesnt contain sillicones:

For foundation, on summer, i would pick a tinted moisturizer, but not the sheerest one, so my pick is on Tarte Smooth operator. Again, paraben free, and suited for sensitive skins. Comes in a very wide range of shades and undertones, something not typical with tinted moisturizers:

For concealer, i did pick Amazing cosmetics concealer. Its waterproof, and paraben free:

The powder i did like, was the new Bare Escentuals bare minerals SPF 30 sunscreen mineral powder. It acts as your sunscreen and setting powder, so its very good. And actually you can apply it every 1-2 hrs, since it comes with a brush, and it wont alter your make up. Not like applying cream sunscreen on top of your make up. This will keep shine at bay, while giving you the much needed spf in summer:

For bronzer/highlighter/blush, i picked a multitasking product. Depending on your skin tone, i have a recommendation or another. For normal to tan skin, i recommend Smashbox fusion soft lights, for fair skin tones, i do recommend Cargo Plant love Baked illuminator:

You will ofcourse, need some blotting powders, if you have very oily skin, so i did choose an eco friendly and relatively cheap ($10) Boscia blotting linens:

And oh my gosh....how could i forget....Mascara!!! I picked my all time favorit, but in a waterproof version. As you know, this is paraben free, and many other things free lol. Tarte, Lights, Camera, Splashes waterproof mascara:

And finally...for lips. I was a bit undecided on this one, but finally i went for something thats a hybrid between a lip balm, an spf and a lip tint. And i found it! Juice beauty lip balm spf 8, its actually a lip tint, moisturizing and spf!!! comes in a variety of colors, and Juice beauty is known for its organic eco friendly products!, so now you can have nice lips even on the pool!:

I received my sample order from Silk Naturals a few days ago and just can't say enough good things about the website or the owner, Karen. The products are outstanding and the samples are generous. I am thrilled that the shipping is based on weight. The shipping for my 3 blush samples and my lipstick was $2.00. Can you believe it?! The prices for full size products is also very reasonable.

The website has a line of popular clones; MAC, Bobbie Brown, Nars, etc. I immediately ordered a full size of their 'Climax' (Nars Orgasm) after receiving my sample. There is a forum on the website where you can speak with the owners and other Silk Naturals fans. You can even make requests for clone products that you want added to the inventory. THAT'S listening to the customers!

Afterglow Mineral Cosmetics

A friend of mine recommended that I check out Afterglow Mineral Cosmetics. She swears by them. The prices are a little steep for me, though.

Zoya Nail Polish pics

>I was going through a stack of beauty mags last night before I donate them to the library. I kept seeing Zoya featured over and over and decided to check them out. You know I am crazy about Honeybee Gardens and their natural, no stink, easy off nail polish. Their only downside is limited colors. Zoya has 300 knock out colors. They are free of Toluene, Formaldehyde, Camphor and DBP (dibutyl phthalate). They are advertised as long-lasting and are raved about in the publications. But, the line smells like nail polish and will require the standard polish remover.

These are $6 on the website with $6.95 shipping. If you use 'ZOYA' at checkout you will get $6 off (essentially a free polish). You can also purchase them in salons. The salon finder is here.

They also have a blog with some interesting articles. There are three gorgeous fall and winter collections. The Princess will be hauling some of these when she gets the royal $$$ coffers up again.

I've meant to post this Zoyathis post. I am kind of surprised at how well the colors photograph. They actually look very similar to each other when you are just looking at the bottles.

I have to say, Zoya is probably my favorite nail polish brand. I like the Honeybee Gardens polish for their lack of polish smell, but Zoya has the best color choices by far. These are rich and you can get decent coverage with one coat. I normally use two.

Out of these, I like Kalista (mahogany brown) and Jasmine (copper red) the best. The wear is good. I can usually go at least a couple of days before touching up small chips.
haul for some time now, but I never got around to taking a pic of it. These are the nail polishes I ordered from back on

Zoya Polish Earth Day Haul pics

I finally got off the bench and mailed off my old polishes to do the Zoya Earth Day Exchange. It's still going on, I don't know for how long. I just found a shoebox of old polishes from a K-Mart gift pack under the bed, so I will be going for round two.

Zoya Exchange here.

I traded in 11 old polishes. The new bottles cost $3 each, shipped. Regular price is $6 before shipping. The only one I didn't like is 'Elodie'. It is a bit too bright for me. I've already traded it at Makeup Alley.

Meow Cosmetics Veteran's Day Sale collections

Meow Cosmetics is having a Veteran's Day Sale through 11/12. They have a ton of mineral makeup in great seasonal colors. I'm surprised that I haven't talked about them before since I regularly receive their newsletter.

I like that they have a link for product information and colors separate from the products themselves.
